Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information AIgames123 (the "Service") collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. We aim to collect only what is necessary to operate the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

• Account info: Email address, password (hashed), display name, optional profile picture. Collected when you sign up.
• OAuth info: If you log in with GitHub or Google, we receive your username/display name, public profile picture, and email address from their APIs. We do not receive your password.
• User Content: Games you upload (file, thumbnail, name, description, tags) and metadata such as upload timestamp.
• Communications: Messages you send us, including DMCA notices and support requests.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Usage data: Which games you view, which games you upvote, search queries — used to power features like view counts and upvote prevention.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URL, and request timestamps — typical web server logs, retained for security and debugging.
• Local storage: We use your browser's localStorage to remember preferences (e.g. which on-screen controller mode you prefer, which games you have upvoted). This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us as a database record.

1.3 What we do NOT collect

• We do not use third-party advertising trackers
• We do not sell your data
• We do not collect precise geolocation
• We do not track you across other websites

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate the Service (display games, count views, process upvotes, show your profile)
• Authenticate you and protect your account
• Enforce our Terms of Service and detect abuse (spam, fraud, prohibited content)
• Respond to your support inquiries and legal requests
• Improve the Service (e.g. understanding which features are used)
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to run AIgames123. These providers process some of your data on our behalf, subject to their own privacy policies:

• Vercel (hosting & web traffic): Receives HTTP request data (IP, user agent, URL). See Vercel's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase (database, authentication, file storage): Stores your account info, game metadata, and uploaded files. See Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• GitHub (OAuth login, optional): If you choose to sign in with GitHub, your authentication is handled by GitHub. See GitHub's Privacy Statement.
• Google (OAuth login, optional): If you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• jsDelivr / unpkg (CDN for JavaScript libraries): Your browser may request library files directly from these CDNs.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

AIgames123 uses a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies:

• Authentication cookies set by Supabase to keep you logged in
• Local storage entries for UI preferences and rate-limit tracking

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. We do not require a cookie consent banner because we only use strictly-necessary cookies that are exempt under most privacy laws.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

The Service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete that information promptly.

6. Your Rights & Choices

6.1 Access and update

You can view and update your account info (display name, profile picture, password) from your profile page at any time.

6.2 Delete your account

To delete your account and associated data, email us at support@aigames123.com. We will respond within 30 days. Note: some data may be retained for legal or security reasons (e.g. fraud prevention).

6.3 California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

• Know what personal information we collect about you and how we use it (this Policy)
• Request a copy of that information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal exceptions)
• Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share)
• Be free from discrimination for exercising these rights

6.4 Other jurisdictions

The Service is operated from the United States and primarily directed at U.S. users. If you are accessing the Service from outside the U.S., you understand that your data will be processed in the U.S. We will respond to verified requests from users in any jurisdiction with similar privacy rights (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR), although we do not currently target those markets.

7. Data Retention

We retain account info and User Content as long as your account is active. After account deletion, most data is removed within 30 days. Server logs and backups may persist for up to 90 days. Some records may be retained longer to comply with legal obligations or to resolve disputes.

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

• Passwords are stored hashed (not in plaintext) via Supabase Auth
• HTTPS is enforced site-wide
• Database access is gated by row-level security policies
• File uploads are validated to prevent dangerous content types

No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and, where required, the relevant authorities in accordance with applicable law.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy. Material changes will be indicated by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.
